Making the Right First Impression with Classy Reception Desks

A first impression is something that can never be stressed enough. Whether we like to admit it or not, most of us make a decision about what we see in a matter of seconds. Be it right or wrong, that is just the way it is. When you have a business that involves a reception area, you have to make sure that the impression you give is a good one. The best way to do that is with reception desks that make a statement.

Imagine walking into a lawyer’s office and seeing a shoddy desk for the receptionist to work at. More than likely, you would already have doubts about the talent level of the attorney. If they are not capable of providing a quality reception area, how are they possibly going to present your case?

Appearance is everything these days and you cannot afford to appear to be anything but the best. That being the case, there are plenty of options available for you to either upgrade your current reception desk or start out on the right foot if you have a new business.

No matter the look of your décor, you are going to be able to find something that will have a classic look and make a definitive statement to anyone walking through your doors. If you have a very modern office, you may want to go with something like a glass top reception desk. They come in a variety of overall shapes and materials, but they have an unmistakable flair to them that will have your client’s jaws dropping.

Now you may be modern, but still have a more traditional flare at the same time. If that is the case, you may want to choose something with a finished wooden front and a black marble top. This is a combination of both worlds and easily fits into many settings.

While we have mostly been discussing the overall look of the desk, you are also going to have to make sure that it is inviting as well. By this, you must make sure that the reception desk itself fits properly into the setting. You need to make sure that it is not too high, too overwhelming or simply not fitting for the area that you using it in.

As an example, think of the desks that you see in the lobby of an office building as compared to those in a doctor’s office. They are obviously two totally different scenarios and the desks in either setting would not fit into the other. Keep that in mind as you are shopping as you don’t want to fall in love with something that you can’t have.

When the first impression that you make is not a positive one, it is often the last time that you get to make an impression on someone. Their judgment is tainted about you from that point forward and it is quite difficult to overcome. Don’t lose business over something as simple as a reception desk. Choose one of the many that are available and make a positive impression the moment they walk into your office.
